What types of online converters, tools and calculators do you offer?

We offer hundreds of helpful online tools that help users achieve a specific task. This may be helping with documents (e.g., PDF to Word, merge PDFs, compress PDF), images (e.g., PNG↔JPG, HEIC to JPG, WebP), audio/video (e.g., MP4 to MP3, WAV↔MP3), archives (ZIP / RAR / 7Z), plus utility tools and calculators (percentages, dates, age, BMI/BMR, loans, mortgage, currency & unit converters, color tools, time zones and more) If it can be converted, converters.net can do it.

Are your tools free to use? Do I need to create an account or give my email?

All tools are free to use as much as you want. No sign-up or email are required. Simply open the tool in your browser and you are good to go.

What are your most used calculators and converters?

Popular picks include: Distance Converter, age & date calculators, Financial & mortgage calculators, BMI/BMR calculator, currency converters (live rates), other unit converters (weight, area, speed, temperature), time zone calculators, color converter (HEX↔RGB↔CMYK), Base64 encoder/decoder, and hash generators (MD5/SHA).

Which browsers are supported?

We do our best to support as many browsers as possible, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari.

How do I use a converter?

Open the tool and upload or paste your file/text/image/link. Choose the output format or settings, and the tool will automatically convert/calculate for you. When done, download the result or copy it to your clipboard. No sign up – just instant results.

Will you add watermarks to the converted files/images/results?

No, we don’t add watermarks to any outputs from our tools, calculators and converters.

Does this work on mobile and tablets? Can I drag & drop on desktop?

Yes — our site is mobile-friendly and also works with desktop and tablets. On desktop you can also drag & drop files or paste from the clipboard for supported tools.

Are there file size or text length limits?

Limits vary by tool and file type, but they are quite hard to hit. As a rule of thumb, documents/images work up to dozens of megabytes, and audio/video/archives can be even more. If your file is too big, try lowering the size first using one of our image or file compression tools.

Are my files private? Do you store or share them?

Your uploads are only processed to complete the conversion/calculation. We don’t sell your data. For sensitive information, use encrypted files or anonymize content before uploading if you wish.

Is it safe to upload confidential files? Do you support encryption?

Transfers use secure HTTPS. For highly confidential data, consider encrypting the file (e.g., passworded ZIP/PDF) before upload, or redact sensitive sections. We do not collect records of your uploads. We also have encryption/decryption tools available.

If my conversion fails, what should I try?

Check the input file opens locally, then try re-uploading, using a different browser, changing VPN connection or lowering quality/size. If it still fails, try converting to an intermediate format (e.g., PDF→DOCX→HTML).

Can I resize images, change DPI, and edit quality using your tools?

Yes — we have tools that let you edit the width/height, aspect ratio, change DPI, and adjust compression quality of your images. You can also strip metadata to remove EXIF info and reduce size with our metadata remover.

Why is my converted video larger than the original?

Different codecs and settings affect size. Try H.264/H.265, lower resolution or frame rate, and choose a target bitrate (e.g., 2–5 Mbps for 1080p screen recordings).

Can I calculate currency conversion and exchange rates?

Yes — enter an amount and choose currencies to get up-to-date results. Rates may differ from your bank’s card or cash rates – we provide an estimate.

How do I compress a PDF without ruining quality?

Use our PDF compressor tool. If you are concerned about quality, select a lower level of compression first. This reduces image resolution just enough and removes unused fonts. If you need archival quality, choose “lossless” or “high quality” instead.

Can I use results commercially? What about copyright and licenses?

Only upload and convert content you have rights to use. Respect software/licenses, trademarks, and model/brand usage in images or fonts. For third-party music or video, obtain permissions where required. We take no responsibility for your use of outputs from our tools.

Do you have an API or batch tools for advanced users?

We do not currently offer an API. We focus on easy to use, simple tools for individual tasks to help everyday users. However, some of our tools support batch processing, like our bulk image or file converters.

Do you support right-to-left languages, diacritics, and emojis?

Yes — most text tools support Unicode and RTL scripts. For PDF/Word conversions, make sure the source fonts cover the characters you need.

Can I use the unit converters for engineering and science (SI & imperial)?

Yes — convert length, mass, area, volume, speed, temperature, pressure, energy, data size (KB/MB/GB), and more. We include helpful hints like MB vs Mb and °C↔°F formulas.

How do I convert HEIC to JPG from iPhone photos? Will I lose quality?

Use our HEIC to JPG Converter, or HEIC to PNG Converter. Upload HEIC files and choose JPG or PNG. Use “high quality” to keep detail; JPG is lossy, PNG is lossless but larger. For transparency, pick PNG.

How do I convert MP4 to MP3 or WAV? What bit-rate should I choose?

Upload your file to one of our converters and select the target format. For music/podcasts, 128–192 kbps MP3 is a good balance; use 256–320 kbps for higher quality. Choose WAV if you prefer lossless results.

Do you support ZIP/RAR/7Z extraction and archive creation tools?

Yes — you can compress folders into ZIP and extract common archive formats using our tools. For password-protected archives, provide the correct password during extraction.

Do you have developer tools (e.g., JSON, Base64, hash, UUID, lorem ipsum)?

Yes — pretty-print and validate JSON, encode/decode Base64, generate MD5/SHA checksums, create UUIDs, and produce placeholder text. Great for QA and debugging.

Can I merge PDFs, reorder pages, or split a PDF into separate files?

Yes — open the PDF tools. You can combine PDF files, drag to reorder, or split PDF pages into separate files. Use our compress PDF tool after merging if the output is too large.

How do I convert PDF to Word (DOCX) online with formatting preserved?

Use our PDF to Word converter – simply upload your PDF document and it will automatically be converted into DOCX (Word Document).

When should I use PNG vs JPG (JPEG)? What about WebP or HEIC?

PNG is best for crisp graphics, UI, and transparency. JPG is smaller for photos. WebP offers modern compression for the web. HEIC is Apple’s format—convert to JPG/PNG for compatibility.
